Only picked up on the online session arrange through the holidays after event had passed. I am behind with this subject and submissions in other subjects due to Army continuous training period and Anzac Day responsibilities. I have sought extensions for submissions for Sue Hood’s Discourse Analysis assignment and likewise for the Assignment 1, part2. Both granted.  Read Wenger’s paper and found the detail of Community of Practice sound but recognise that learning will take place only if the parties want to learn. It implies that the success in online learning is being able to learn asynchronously if there is sufficient structure to guide and support the learner. If there is too much structure the actual learning will be forfeited in response to dealing with the systemic responses. This is the point when learners will give up on the process. The note of significance is that the majority of on-line learning happens asynchronously! Ensure that the system is supportive to the learner.
